Hi! I'm Adam
Mindfulness & meditation teacher, photographer/filmmaker, exploring the world both inside and out.
Mindfulness and meditation saved my life.
10 years ago I sat on my therapist's couch. My mind and body ridden with depression, anxiety and a battle with drug/alcohol addiction. I had found myself on a path of self destruction trying anything to suppress my anger and emotions from years of child abuse.
This was certainly not my first therapy session but it would be the one that changed my life forever. She handed me a copy of Jon Kabat-Zinn's "Wherever you go, there you are" a book on how to introduce mindfulness meditation into every day life.
From that moment on I learned how to watch and welcome my emotions with awareness and compassion instead of aversion and reactivity.
Since that fateful day I have created a daily mindfulness and meditation practice, studied the Buddha Dharma both at home and places like the Durango Dharma Center. I center my teachings around the teachings of the Buddha but you do not need to practice Buddhism to cultivate the blessings from mindfulness and meditation. I'm currently in the process of becoming a certified mindfulness couch, however in the meantime I hope to help all of those I can to find their path to freedom by sharing my experiences.
When I'm not practicing or teaching, I work professionally as a photographer and filmmaker. I have shot and worked on commercials and films all around the world. I hope to one day create films that share the teachings and inspire people from all over to take on the practice.
I believe these teachings should be accessible to all beings. Therefore I do not charge for any of my teachings including one on one couching sessions. In the Buddhist tradition, the teachings are given freely because they are considered priceless; in the Buddhist tradition we also practice dana, or generosity, by making monetary offerings for the teachings. Dana is not payment for goods or services rendered; it is given from the heart. Your generosity is a gift that supports not just the teachers, but also the Sangha, the larger Dharma community, and your own practice. If you feel you have received anything from these teachings and wish to donate you can do so below.
